SPEAKER AND SUBJECT – Professor Arthur Romano – Conflict Resolution

Summary of Talk

Professor Romano is a Rotary Peace Fellow for life.  He hopes we can work together and prevent youth violent behavior. To achieve better mental health we can partner with the schools to find students who need help.  Early involvement in the home is essential.  Self awareness needs to be taught as well as the ability to communicate.  Homicide is the leading cause of death among students age 10 – 24.  There are not enough mental health services in our schools.  Compassion for others needs to be taught.  The quality of our relationships to others is a key to conflict resolution.

Friday: Green Management – Lisa Howard, Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar at Columbia University, from Barbados.
