                                                         SUMMARY OF TALK
Forty million Americans have hearing loss problems. Many think that it is mostly age related,  but now many young people have the problem from listening to very loud music. Ringing in the ears is caused by titinitis. Some people hear talking but do not know what is exactly said. The earlier the better to go to an audiologist for a hearing test. Serious injuries can result, for example, crossing the street and not hearing an oncoming car. It is depressing when you no longer can hear what a grandchild is saying. Young people can have hearing loss from a concussion during sports. Also veterans from combat noise. Hearing aids are very expensive and usually not covered by insurance. AARP only gives discounts. Help American Hearing is a small organization is a last resort. It helps students in colleges and vocation schools. Or you can go to better hearing.com. One needs an audiologist to be fitted correctly. Don't delay and get over emotional barriers.

This Friday, tomorrow, if not canceled due to the snow, the speaker will be Marylyn Masiero, the district governor nominee, on the Rotary Foundation. The meeting, if not canceled, will be at Maya Riviera, the former Etruscan Grill, just north of The Briar's.

                                                         SUMMARY OF TALK
This very informative talk was well received and held the attention of all Rotarians. The most critical age for children is two. Without vitamins, nutrients and enough food, children can have stunted growth, early blindness, lower IQ and even death. Most only get a good meal at lunch at school. Vijaya projected on our screen world hunger maps, especially in India as well as Honduras and other parts of Central America. She spoke of successful food solutions to reduce malnutrition and hunger. Knowledge by school staffs can help. Hidden hunger of millions of people world wide exists.

This Friday, tomorrow, the speaker will be Vivian Holmes on How to Retain Your Hearing.
