Holiday Cheer

Every year on the Sunday before Christmas, the Village of Briarcliff Manor volunteer firefighters in their Santa suits come to visit every street to spread holiday cheer. We all love to see this special Santa's visit and they even give us lollipops. This video is made on 12/20/09. If you look hard enough, may be you'll find some people you know in the pictures because they are Rotarians.

Happy Holidays!

BRIARCLIFF ROTARY WEEKLY ROUNDUP - 11/29/09 by Don Wilde

BRIARCLIFF ROTARY WEEKLY ROUNDUP

November 29, 2009.

In lieu of our usual luncheon at the Briarcliff Recreation Center (it was the day after Thanksgiving), we dined this week at the world-famous Squire’s Restaurant and Bingo/Whist Facility.

It was marvelous.

Things start off to a roaring start with Sy Yuter’s hilarious impersonation of Jimmy Stewart’s version of Kate Smith’s rendering of “God Bless America”, while doing her hair. This was followed by The U.S. Treasury Secretary’s (he flew in especially for the occasion!) riveting discussion of our mounting National Debt. (He told us it was very, very large.) Then, things built to an absolutely thrilling climax with The Radio City Music Hall’s Rockettes’ rendering of “God Bless America”, all the while displaying gigantic photographs of Paul Rosen, delivering a talk on Gypsy Rose Lee’s marvelous impression of Richard Nixon, taking a shower....

As I say, it was marvelous. You really should have been there. Really, you should have!

Well…maybe next year.
