The Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor celebrated the Community Day in Briarcliff Manor on September 15, 2012. In accordance with what has become a tradition in the Village over the last quarter century, the Club provided cold beverages and fresh-cooked food. About 15 Rotarians from all walks of life rolled up their sleeves to grill burgers, roll cotton candy, and pop the popcorn for community members. This year, the Club also had a group of teenagers from St. Christopher's, a residential treatment center and Special Acts school headed by Dr. Robert Maher, former principal of Briarcliff High School and a Rotarian.
As in the past year, the Club also had an information booth which provided information about Rotary International, and the local activities of the Club.    The Briarcliff Manor Rotary has been very active in the community. It has installed almost every park bench in Briarcliff Manor, provided scholarships to students, and sponsored the Interact Club in the High School. Among its several exciting upcoming projects include sending a Friendship Exchange Team to Israel, wherein our Rotarians and their spouses will live with local Rotarians in Israel for about a week, and hosting a reciprocal Team from Israel—a unique opportunity to experience the country and its culture firsthand, through the eyes and ears of locals.
