SUMMARY OF TALK
Roger introduced Dana and an associate who presented the Elderact club proposal which is based on our Rotary model of “Service Above Self”.  Elderact clubs provide purposeful community projects for seniors who live in skilled nursing facilities and assisted living centers.  In the chapter in Wappingers Falls, the Elderact Club proposed to residents the idea of giving and giving again.  Anne Cargill lives in the senior housing in Briarcliff Manor and talked about getting an Elderact Club going there for seniors who don’t have anything to do.  One of the speakers said that for seniors giving back is second to happiness for them.
