Message from the president and the Briar Crier for March 24, 2017


The Briarcliff Club will be delighted to have you join us on Friday.
We meet at the Briars Restaurant, 512 N State Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY
We gather at Noon and the meeting begins at 12:15P.
The cost of lunch is $20.00 for which there is a choice of many entrees, soup or salad, coffee, tea, desert and beverage.
We sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the door - 1 ticket for $2.00 & 3 tickets for $5.00 as well as "happy bucks" which is an opportunity to briefly address the club with a comment, recognition or toast - costs as little as a buck ($1.00).

BRIERCRIER FOR MARCH 24, 2017

THIS DATE IN HISTORY:

ROTARIANS PRESENT: 13, He, Scott, invited the Dr. from Nigeria to speak,
and our club will receive an event sponsorship of $500 from Phelps Hospital.

GUESTS: Howie Kutcher (pianist), Lauri Racanelli from Atria.

HAPPY THOUGHTS
Scott, he attended Yonkers Rotary and for our club gave them $110 for relief of the Yonker's apartment building fire, which was received warmly, he was in Newark Rotary with his son Sam
Dr. Bob Maher ($20) he is happy with Speakers, he was Grand Marshall at
St. Patrick's Parade but fell, heard from Ernie that Marie Fuesy (a past
Rotarian) has passed away in Florida
Eric ($10) re Lou Wachtel and in Ossining was Michael and his coach for 10
years
Ellen is happy to be here and to talk about Phelps
Bob is happy to be here and to talk about Phelps
Rich is happy re our guests and that Maher is okay

This Friday we have scheduled: Richard Zuckerman, President G & Z Systems, Inc. (IT Experts) - Since 1981 and  Enveloping Sound on North State Road in Briarcliff, across from The Briars.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Via Dr. Maher, our treasury is good, and Via Eric, don't
forget about Elmsford Cap't Lawrence Brewery fundraiser on Monday, May 1st.
SPEAKERS on Phelps Hospital. We have two, Ellen Woods and Robert (Bob)
Lane
. Re Bob, he went to elementary and high school in Endicott, NY and
then got a B.S. in Business Science from Binghamton. Re Ellen, she was
raised in New Jersey and then got a B.S. in Health Services from
Montclair, in NJ and an M.P.A. in Health Care Administration from Long
Island University.
                        SUMMARY OF TALKS
Via Bob. future will bring 1800 patients with three million in last five
years. Also, have a new cancer center with Sloan Kettering.
Via Ellen (who spoke the longest), She is the program coordinator with
strategic goals of Vitality, Community Collaboration, Nurse Improvement
and Home Training.
