HAPPY THOUGHTS -- Rod honored by St. Christopher's; Ernie P is out of the hospital after his hip replacement; Eric Lebenson is recovering from his injury.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – June 14th is the installation dinner at the Briars restaurant, Rachel announced that the new car wash on North State Road was having a grand opening with a benefit for the local SPCA and will feature games for kids and music and the fire trucks from the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department will provide tours.

SPEAKER AND SUBJECT – Dr. Bob Maher on education

SUMMARY OF TALK – Dr. Robert Maher, Rotary member, educator and former Principal at Briarcliff High School. He spoke to us about his current position as head of St. Christopher’s Academy and reported on the Academy being one of the top schools in America. He was recently interviewed by the New York Times about the amazing accomplishments of the students. They drew beautiful sketches that were displayed in their gymnasium. They were all sold and helped them to raise money. These children are among the poorest and most disadvantaged. This was a wonderful accomplishment by these students and a day to remember for them for the rest of their lives.
