SPEAKERS AND SUBJECT: Bill Melnychuk on Electric Generators

SUMMARY OF TALK
Bill Melnychkuk operates as the Briarcliff Generator Services (914-762-4443) and he charges by the hour for recommending what kind of Electric Generator for you to install which can operate to power what you need when Con Ed's power supply is interrupted. He can recommend a Generac or Kohler Generator which can be powered by gasoline or natural gas or propane, and he can help you get the necessary permits since the generator has to be outside of your house and has to be kept operational. You decide what electrical power sources you want to run, for example the electric motor that helps heat your house via a motorized fan. Some pick a generator which is large enough to power whole house. The total cost can run from $3,500 - 12,000 depending on the size of the generator.  Generac has 80% of market.  He has to notify ConEd since cannot operate generator that feeds the Con Ed system.

This Friday- No speaker. The day after Christmas. Those who want to meet on Friday Dec. 26 will meet in the main dining room of The Briar's and eat off the menu paying that amount (plus tip) with a contibution from our club.
