SUMMARY
OF TALK
Pearl
Peterson, a former incarcerated woman, spoke about breaking the
chains of the past with a community enrichment program designed
to assist those with a criminal or troubled past to successfully
navigate through the systems they are required to go through in order
to be productive contributors to society. Compassionate guidance and
workshops are offered, like: goal setting, social skills, resume
writing, job search assistance, interview preparation, expunging
records, support groups, continuing education, self care, money
management and relationships. Dr. Berson continued with the
astonishing statistics on incarceration.
