SUMMARY OF TALK
In the United States providing long-term care insurance for individuals and business customers is not available. Medicare only pays for 20 days. After 100 days patients must pay themselves. People are living longer and should not have to rely on their children to pay for their care. This lack could tear families apart. Self insuring is very expensive. In the not too distant future, over 50,000 people may have early dementia. The average annual cost of long-term insurance is about $3,000 per year.
Next Friday – Kathy Boyle – How to improve sight and hearing
