SPEAKER AND SUBJECT: Prof. Dr. Surendra Kaushik on Women's Empowerment Through Higher Education.
SUMMARY OF TALK
Pace Professor Kaushik founded and helped fund the Mrs. Helena Kaushik Women's College in Rajasthan India in 1999. It is committed to educating women where only 1.5% of women have achieved a college degree. The goal: educate a woman and you educate a family, and then a community, a society and ultimately a nation. There is no better tool for development than the education of women and their empowerment. He showed slides of a very impressive college.
Next Friday Dec. 23 meeting at The Briar's dining room. We will eat off the menu with Rotary giving $10 credit to each attendee. Dr. Bob Maher will speak on Christmas to Infinity.
