The sacred bell of King Sejong was completed in AD 771. It is the largest bell of its kind surviving in Korea. It weighs about 18.9 tons, about equal to 12 mid-sized cars. The casting technique of the enormous and beautiful bell is still not fully understood. The beauty of its visual is only one aspect of the bell’s splendor. It emits a majestic and graceful sound which is clear and loud and reverberates alternating between loud and soft, continuing for some time. This is a distinctive feature of the bell. The intentional asymmetry of the design leads to varying levels of thickness. This does not occur in western bells as these are generally of a consistent thickness. Also, first steel mill built and Samsung started.
