BRIARCLIFF ROTARY CLUB MEETING
January 28, 2009
MEETING OPENING: Our weekly meeting was opened by our Club President, Mark Seiden, with the customary trumpet voluntary, accompanied by a special hum, courtesy of Zen Eidel.
OUR WEEKLY PRAYER: Bishop John boomed forth his appeal to The Almighty, requesting Mercy for the Unrightous. Ernie Pacchiana said “Amen.”
SALUTE TO OUR FLAG: The salute to our flag was led by Sy Yuter, who was, as usual, utterly superb.
PRESIDENT’S REMARKS: President Seiden kicked things off with a reminder that Our Holiday Hearts Party will take place at Terra Rustica this coming Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:30—or until the last poop has popped. There will be an Hors d’Oeuvres Buffet from 6 , desserts and coffee from 7:30 until we fall down. Also, there will be a Discounted Cash Bar for the poor amongst us.
Rotary Members’ costs included; fee for guests: $20. Please RSVP to Shelley Lotter at slotter@DGLLC.com. or phone the lovely lady at (914) 320-4168. Checks should be made payable to Briarcliff Rotary Club. Checks must be mailed to Shelley Lotter, 823 Long Hill Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY. 10510.
GUEST SPEAKERS: Our speakers for this week’s meeting were female students from Briarclliff High. They were inspirational and touching in speaking about their school’s Haiti Relief Hurricane efforts--speaking of which. our Briarcliff Rotary Club is seeking donations to supply Shelter Boxes for the Haitian hurricane victims. Each box costs $1.000. How many boxes are we sending? THAT DEPENDS ON YOU!
THE DRAWING WINNERS: You know who you are. Step forward and immediately declare your winnings to the IRS
MEETING CONCLUSION: The meeting came to a fitting conclusion with the setting on fire of Paul Rosen’s tie. And also with the many, MANY thanks to outgoing President Mark Seiden for his generous and outstanding reign.
Kudos, Mark!
Respectfully submitted by,
