Briarcliff Rotary’s “Preventative Health and Awareness”: “Hypnosis 101"


 The Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor is delighted to sponsor a presentation on "Hypnosis 101" on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Briarcliff Library at 6:30 p.m.  The presentation will be made by Dr. Bob Pargament, of the Westchester Hypnosos Center, Harrison.

                                                                SUMMARY OF TALK
BAILIE JONES IS A BRIGHT WELL-SPOKEN JUNIOR AT BRONXVILLE HS. HE SPENT TWO WEEKS LAST SUMMER AT A GIRL'S CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN TANZANIA. THESE GIRLS ARE ORPHANS, POOR, SOME OF WHOM WERE LIVING ON THE STREETS. HE DID MUSCULAR WORK LIKE MOVING ROCKS AND PUMPING WATER. HE TUTORED THE GIRLS IN READING AND SCIENCE. HE TRIED TO DO FUN THINGS LIKE SOCCER. THIS SCHOOL IS NEAR THE SECOND LARGEST LAKE IN THE WORLD. THEY DRINK ITS WATER AFTER PURIFICATION. HE IS PROUD THAT HE COULD VOLUNTEER TO TEACH SUCH A NEEDY GROUP. IT WAS A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE AND HE PLANS TO RETURN NEXT SUMMER.

DISPLAYED BELLS OF DIFFERENT SIZES USED AT HER LUTHERAN CHURCH IN PLEASANTVILLE. EACH BELL A SEPARATE TONE WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM MULTI-TONE SALVATION ARMY BELLS. THE BELLS CAN CORRESPOND TO THE 88 KEYS OF A PIANO.  THE BELLS FIRST USED IN ENGLAND. BELL FIRST USED IN 1902 IN UNITED STATES. THE BELLS ARE MANUFACTURED IN ENGLAND AND VIA ONE COMPANY IN PENNSYLVANIA. THE BELLS CAN BE USED BY SEPARATE PLAYERS TO PLAY CHURCH SONGS.
